Hadith Beginning with the Letter Kaf (ك)

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down on his bed, he would recite the surah 'Say: O disbelievers' (Qul ya ayyuhal-kafirun) until he completed it."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down on his bed at night, he would say: 'In the name of Allah I have laid down my side. O Allah, forgive me my sin, drive away my devil, release my pledge (my soul), make my scale heavy, and place me in the Highest Assembly.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down on his bed at night, he would place his hand under his cheek, then say: 'Bismika Allahumma ahya wa bismika amut' (O Allah, in Your name I live and in Your name I die). And when he woke up, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur' (All praise is for Allah who gave us life after He had caused us to die, and to Him is the rising)."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to relieve himself, he would go far away."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to relieve himself, he would not lift his garment until he was close to the ground."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to be intimate with one of his wives while she was menstruating, he would instruct her to wrap a waist-cloth (izar) around herself, and then he would be intimate with her."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to enter the state of ihram, he would apply the best perfume he could find."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to supplicate against someone or for someone, he would perform qunut after the bowing (ruku')."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep, he would place his right hand under his cheek, then say three times: 'O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to bid farewell to an army, he would say: 'I entrust to Allah your religion, your trusts and the final outcomes of your deeds.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to perform i'tikaf, he would pray the Fajr prayer, then enter his place of i'tikaf."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), he would perform ablution (wudu) like the ablution for prayer; and when he intended to eat or drink while in a state of janabah, he would wash his hands, then eat and drink."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), he would wash his private parts and perform ablution (wudu) like the ablution for prayer."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, he would cast lots among his wives, and whichever of them had her lot drawn, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would take her with him."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended a military expedition, he would, in order to mislead the enemy, give the impression of some other direction instead of it."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended some intimacy with a menstruating (wife), he would place a cloth over her private part."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) wore a new garment, he would call it by its name, whether it was a shirt, a turban or a cloak, then say: 'O Allah, to You belongs all praise; You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good of that for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of that for which it was made.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When news was slow in coming to him (peace and blessings be upon him), he would recite this verse of Tarafah (the poet): 'The one you did not provision (to bring news) will bring you the news.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for rain, he would say: 'O Allah, give water to Your servants and Your animals, spread Your mercy, and give life to Your dead land.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer, he would say: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise is Yours; blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no god besides You.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) used the tooth-stick (siwak), he would give the siwak to the eldest, and when he drank, he would give (the remainder) to the one on his right."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When the cold was severe, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the prayer early, and when the heat was severe, he would delay the prayer (until it was cooler)."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When a strong wind blew, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate: 'O Allah, make it fertile (bringing rain), not barren.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When someone complained of pain in his head, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: 'Go and have cupping done.' And when someone complained of pain in his foot, he would say: 'Go and apply henna to it.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, Jibril (peace be upon him) would perform ruqyah over him (peace and blessings be upon him) and say: 'In the name of Allah; He cures you of every illness, and (He protects you) from the evil of an envier when he envies and from the evil of everyone with an (evil) eye.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, he would recite the Mu'awwidhat, blow over himself, and pass his hand over his body."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the morning and when he reached the evening, he would say: 'We have reached the morning upon the natural way (fitrah) of Islam, upon the word of sincerity, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and upon the creed of our father Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was upright, a Muslim, and was not of the polytheists.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know that someone from his household had told a lie, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would keep turning away from him until he repented."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) tied a turban, he would let its end hang down between his two shoulders."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) broke his fast with a people, he would say: 'Those fasting have broken their fast with you, the righteous have eaten your food, and the angels have descended upon you.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) broke his fast, he would say: 'The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) broke his fast with a people, he would say: 'Those fasting have broken their fast with you, and the angels have sent blessings upon you.'"

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) applied kohl, he would apply it an odd number of times, and when he cleaned himself with stones (istijmar), he would do so an odd number of times."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate or drank something, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi at'ama wa saqa wa sawwaghahu wa ja'ala lahu makhraja' (All praise is for Allah who gave food and drink, made it easy to swallow, and made for it a way out)."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate food, he would lick his three fingers."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate, his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers would not go beyond (the food) in front of him."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When the two circumcised parts met, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform the ritual bath (ghusl)."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When revelation was sent down upon him (peace and blessings be upon him), a heaviness would come over him (peace and blessings be upon him) and his (peace and blessings be upon him) face would change colour."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When revelation was sent down upon him (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would lower his head, and his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions would also lower their heads; then, when the revelation ceased, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would raise his head."

It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he would turn away from the qiblah to the right or the left."
