Hadith Beginning with the Letter Lam (ل)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from the Arabian Peninsula, until I leave none but Muslims."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I will certainly drive some men away from my Basin, just as a stray camel is driven away from the herd."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I certainly know people from my Ummah who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the white mountains of Tihamah, and Allah Almighty will turn them into scattered dust. Listen! They will be your brothers and of your own kind; they will worship at night just as you do, but they will be people who, when alone with what Allah has made sacred, violate its sanctity."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I will meet Allah in a state in which I have not given anyone anything from anyone's wealth without his heartfelt consent. A sale is only by mutual consent."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of His servant, when he turns to Him in repentance, than one of you who was on his mount in a desolate land and it escaped from him, carrying his food and drink. He despaired of it, then came to a tree and lay down in its shade, having despaired of his mount, when suddenly he saw it standing beside him. He took hold of its halter and then, out of the intensity of his joy, said: 'O Allah, You are my servant and I am Your Lord!' He made this mistake out of the intensity of his joy."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than one of you who finds his camel that he had lost in a desolate land."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of one of you than one of you is with his lost property when he finds it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of a servant than a man who stopped at a place where he faced the danger of death. With him was his mount carrying his food and drink. He laid down his head and fell asleep, and when he woke up his mount had gone. He kept searching for it until, when the heat and thirst became severe for him, he said: 'I will go back to the place where I was and sleep there until I die.' Then he raised his head, and there was his mount beside him, carrying his provisions, his food and his drink! So Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of a believing servant than this man is with his mount and provisions."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty has far more power over you than you have over him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Treading on a live coal is dearer to me than treading on a grave."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"My sitting with a group of people who remember Allah Almighty from the Fajr prayer until the sun rises is dearer to me than freeing four slaves from the descendants of Isma'il; and my sitting with a group of people who remember Allah from the Asr prayer until the sun sets is dearer to me than freeing four slaves."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"My saying 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah), 'wal-hamdu lillah' (and all praise is for Allah), 'wa la ilaha illallah' (and there is none worthy of worship except Allah) and 'wallahu akbar' (and Allah is the Greatest) is dearer to me than everything upon which the sun rises."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Walking on a live coal or on a sword, or stitching my sandal to my foot, is dearer to me than walking on the grave of a Muslim; and it makes no difference to me whether I relieve myself in the middle of a grave or in the middle of the marketplace."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A woman's praying in her room is better for her than praying in the courtyard; her praying in the courtyard is better than praying in the rest of the house; and her praying in the house is better than praying in the mosque."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For one of you to take his rope, go to the mountain, gather firewood, sell it, eat from it and give charity is better for him than asking people."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For one of you to take his rope, go to the mountain, bring a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it, whereby Allah Almighty preserves his dignity, is better for him than asking people, whether they give him or refuse him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For one of you to sit on a live coal until it burns through his clothes and reaches his skin is better for him than sitting on a grave."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a man to commit adultery with ten women is a lesser sin than for him to commit adultery with the wife of his own neighbour; and for a man to steal from ten houses is easier (a lesser sin) than for him to steal from the house of his own neighbour."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a man to step on a burning ember is better than for him to step on a grave."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"That an iron needle be driven into the head of one of you is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not lawful for him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"That one of you should go out early in the morning, carry firewood on his back, give charity from it and through it become free of need from people, is better for him than asking a man, whether he gives to him or refuses him. That is because the upper hand is better than the lower hand; and in spending, begin with those whom you support."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For one of you to stand waiting for forty is better for him than to pass in front of a person who is praying."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"That the belly of one of you be filled with pus until it corrupts it is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"That the belly of a man be filled with pus until it corrupts it is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a man to give his land to his brother free of charge is better for him than to take a fixed rent for it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I know better than the Dajjal himself what the Dajjal will have with him: with the Dajjal there will be two flowing rivers; one of them will appear to the eye as white water, and the other will appear to the eye as blazing fire. So whoever of you encounters that, let him go to the river which appears to him as fire, then plunge into it, then lower his head and drink from it, for in reality it will be cold water. And indeed the Dajjal will be blotted out in the left eye (sightless), with a thick film over it. Between his eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever), which every believer will read, whether he knows how to read and write or not."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I live until next year, I will certainly fast on the ninth (day)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I live, if Allah wills, I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from the Arabian Peninsula."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I live, if Allah wills, I will certainly forbid that anyone be named Rabah, Najih, Aflah or Yasar."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If you are as you have said, then it is as though you are feeding them hot ashes, and as long as you remain in that state, there will remain with you a helper from Allah against them."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I will certainly forbid that anyone be named Nafi', Barakah or Yasar."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Here I am at Your service, O True God! Here I am at Your service."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Here I am at Your service, O Allah! Here I am at Your service. Indeed, the real good is the good of the Hereafter."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Here I am at Your service, O Allah! Here I am at Your service. Here I am at Your service; You have no partner. Here I am at Your service. Indeed, all praise, blessing and dominion belong to You alone; You have no partner."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The milk of a milch animal may be drawn in return for bearing its upkeep when it is held in pledge, and a riding animal may be ridden in return for bearing its upkeep when it is held in pledge; and the one who rides it and draws its milk is also responsible for its upkeep."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Learn your Hajj rites from me, for I do not know; perhaps I will not perform Hajj again after this Hajj of mine."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the Day of Resurrection every right will certainly be restored to its owner, to the extent that retribution will be taken for the hornless sheep from the horned sheep that butted it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, to the extent that if they had entered a lizard's hole, you too would enter it." The Companions asked: "Are the Jews and the Christians meant?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who else then?"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Let the young unmarried girls, the women who keep in seclusion and the menstruating women certainly come out to the place of Eid prayer, and let them witness the good and the supplication of the Muslims; but the menstruating women should keep away from the place of prayer."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"You will certainly enter Paradise, except the one who refuses and runs away from Allah as a camel runs away."
