«لتتبعن سنن الذين من قبلكم شبرا بشبر أو ذراعا بذراع حتى لوسلكوا جحر ضب لسلكتموه قالوا: اليهود والنصارى؟ قال: فمن؟»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, to the extent that if they had entered a lizard's hole, you too would enter it." The Companions asked: "Are the Jews and the Christians meant?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who else then?"
