«لأن يغدو أحدكم فيحتطب على ظهره فيتصدق منه ويستغني به عن الناس خير له من أن يسأل رجلا أعطاه أو منعه ذلك بأن اليد العليا أفضل من اليد السفلى وابدأ بمن تعول»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"That one of you should go out early in the morning, carry firewood on his back, give charity from it and through it become free of need from people, is better for him than asking a man, whether he gives to him or refuses him. That is because the upper hand is better than the lower hand; and in spending, begin with those whom you support."
