Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qays bin Shammas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You hear (matters of knowledge from me), and it will be heard from you, and it will be heard from those who heard from you." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After that there will come people who will give testimony before they are asked to testify."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Layla did not hear from Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty keep radiant the person who hears my words and retains them, for sometimes a person who carries knowledge is not himself a scholar. There are three things about which the heart of a believer does not harbour rancour: making one's deeds sincerely for Allah Almighty, sincere goodwill towards the Muslim rulers, and keeping to the community of the Muslims, for their supplication encompasses those who are behind them (that is, those who are not with them)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except if the teacher of Sulayman bin Sayf is Sa'id bin Bazigh, for I have not seen anyone mention him; and if he is Sa'id bin al-Rabi', then he is among the narrators of the Sahih, for he (Sulayman) narrated from both of them. And Allah knows best.

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in a sermon and said: "May Allah Almighty keep radiant the person who hears these words of mine and conveys them, for sometimes a person who carries knowledge conveys it to someone who is more learned than himself. There are three things about which the heart of a Muslim does not harbour rancour: making one's deeds sincerely for Allah Almighty, sincere goodwill towards every Muslim, and keeping to the community of the Muslims, for their supplication encompasses those who are behind them (that is, those who are not with them)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; this report revolves around the narrator Abd al-Rahman bin Zubayd, who is munkar al-hadith (his narrations are rejected); Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) stated this.

Ubayd bin Umayr narrates from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed them in a sermon and said: "May Allah Almighty keep radiant the person who hears my words and retains them. Sometimes a person who directly learns something is not actually a scholar, and sometimes a person who directly learns something conveys it to someone who is more learned than himself."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except that I have not seen anyone mention the narrator Muhammad bin Nasr, who is al-Tabarani's teacher in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat.

There are three things about which the heart of a believer does not harbour rancour: making one's deeds sincerely for Allah Almighty, sincere goodwill towards the rulers, and holding fast to the community of the Muslims, for their supplication encompasses those who are behind them (that is, those who are not with them)."

It is reported about Sayyiduna Wabisah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Eid al-Fitr and the day of Eid al-Adha he stood before the people in the great mosque of Raqqah and said: "On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage I was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Addressing the people in a sermon, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O people! Which month is the most sacred?' The people replied: 'This one.' He said: 'O people! Which city is the most sacred?' The people replied: 'This one.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Then your lives, your wealth and your honour are as sacred to you as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours, and (they will remain so) until you meet your Lord. Have I conveyed (the message)?' The people replied: 'Yes!' Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands towards the sky and said: 'O Allah! Bear witness!' Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O people! Those of you who are present should convey to those who are absent.'" After that, Sayyiduna Wabisah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the listeners: "Come closer, so that we may convey to you just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us."

When he fell silent (that is, when he had finished narrating the hadiths), he would say: "Have you understood? Now convey them, just as they were conveyed to you."
