Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 597

In one narration it is mentioned that Sulaym bin Amir narrates: We used to sit with Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he would narrate many hadiths to us from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he fell silent (that is, when he had finished narrating the hadiths), he would say: "Have you understood? Now convey them, just as they were conveyed to you."
Al-Tabarani recorded both of these narrations in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and the chains of both are hasan (good).
