Majma al-Zawaid 596 — Hearing hadith and conveying it

Makhul narrates: Ibn Abi Zakariyya, Sulayman bin Habib and I visited Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Hims. We greeted him with salam, and he said: "This gathering (or sitting) of yours is a conveyance (of the message) to you from Allah Almighty and His proof against you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conveyed (the message), so you too should convey it!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir.
