Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 591

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Addressing us in a sermon in Masjid al-Khayf at Mina, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty keep radiant the person who hears my words, retains them and then takes them to someone who has not heard them. Sometimes a person who learns something is not a scholar, and sometimes a person who learns something conveys it to someone who is more learned than himself. There are three things about which the heart of a believer does not harbour rancour: making one's deeds sincerely for Allah Almighty, sincere goodwill towards those whom Allah Almighty has made your rulers, and keeping to the community of the Muslims, for their supplication encompasses those who are behind them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam, who is da'if (weak).
