Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty keep radiant the person who hears my words, retains them and then conveys them, for sometimes the one to whom it is conveyed retains it better than the one who heard it directly. There are three things about which the heart of a Muslim does not harbour rancour: making one's deeds sincerely for Allah Almighty, sincere goodwill towards the Muslim rulers, and keeping to the community of the Muslims, for their supplication encompasses those who are not with them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Muhammad bin Musa al-Barbari, about whom Imam al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) says: he is not strong.
