Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his mother, Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: I had a sheep, and I collected a skin of its ghee, then sent it with Zaynab and said: "O Zaynab! Deliver this skin to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he may use it as a condiment." The narrator said: So Zaynab came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! This is ghee that Umm Sulaym has sent to you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Empty her skin for her." So the skin was emptied and given back to her. She came back, and Umm Sulaym was not at home, so I hung the skin on a peg. Then Umm Sulaym came and saw that the skin was full and ghee was dripping from it, and she said: "O Zaynab! Did I not order you to deliver this skin to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he could use it as a condiment?" Zaynab said: "I did so; if you do not believe me, come with me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." So Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) and Zaynab both went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and she said: "I sent a skin of ghee to you with her." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She has brought it." I said: "By the One who sent you with guidance and the religion of truth, it is full of ghee and dripping!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umm Sulaym! Are you surprised that Allah has fed you?"

Hadith Referenceالمعجم الكبير للطبراني / مسند النساء / 21765
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a woman dies and they want to wash her, let them begin with her stomach; if she is not pregnant, let them pass a hand over her stomach gently, and if she is pregnant, do not move her. If you want to wash her, begin first with her lower part; place a covering over her private parts, then take some cotton and wash her, and wash her well; then insert your hand from under the cloth and wipe her with cotton three times; wipe her well before giving her ablution. Then give her ablution with water containing lote-tree leaves (sidr), and let a woman pour the water while standing, who attends to nothing else, until the cleansing with sidr is complete while you are washing. Let the washing be undertaken by the woman with the most right over her, otherwise a pious woman. If she (the nearest woman) is young or weak, then let a pious Muslim woman undertake it. When you have finished washing her lower part thoroughly clean with water and sidr, give her ablution like the ablution for prayer; this is the explanation of her ablution. Then after that wash her three times with water and sidr; begin with her head before everything else, wash it with water, clearing away the trace of the sidr, and do not comb her hair. If anything comes out of her after the three washings, make them five; if something comes out at the fifth, make them seven; and all of it should be an odd number, with water and sidr. If it is at the fifth or the third (that is the last), put some camphor and some sidr in it. Then put that in a new vessel, then sit her up and pour it over her, beginning from her head until you reach her feet. When you have finished with her, place a clean cloth over her, then insert your hand from behind the cloth and remove the first cloth from her. Then pack her lower part with as much cotton as you can, and soak that cotton in her perfume. Then take a long, washed strip of cloth and tie it around her hips as a waistband is tied, then pass it between her thighs and tie it, and bring her thighs together, then let the end of the strip hang from her hips down to near her knees; this is the procedure for her lower part. Then perfume her and shroud her, and tie her hair in three braids, one at the forelock and two at the sides, and do not make her resemble men. Her shroud should consist of five garments, one of which is the waist-wrap (izar) with which you wrap her thighs. Do not remove anything from her hair, neither with lime (nurah) nor with anything else. Whatever hair falls from her, wash it and put it back into the hair of her head, and perfume the hair of her head, and perfume it well. Do not wash her with heated water. Wrap her, and the cloth with which you shroud her, seven times if you wish, and make everything of hers an odd number. And if you see fit to cover her in her bier, make that an odd number too; this is the procedure for her shroud and her head. And if she is swollen, or wounded, or in some similar condition, take a single cloth, dip it in water and pass it over her whole body, and do not move her, for I fear that something may come out of her which cannot be held back."

Tell me, if a woman sees in a dream what a man sees, should she take a ritual bath (ghusl)? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When she sees water (wetness), she should take a ritual bath." Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: May your hands be covered in dust, O Umm Sulaym! You have disgraced women. He asked: What happened to them? I said: Something was lent to them, and when it was asked back from them, they became distressed. He said: What they did was wrong. I said: This is your son (who has died). He said: Surely you will not outdo me in patience tonight. When morning came, he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, bless them in this night of theirs."
