باب من يعرف من النساء بالكنى لمن لم ينته إلينا أسماؤهن ممن لهن صحبة فمنهن أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف — ما أسندت أم سليم
Chapter: Women known by their kunyahs whose names have not reached us, among the female Companions; among them is Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) — Reports Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، أَنَّ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ابْنِ بِنْتِ أَنَسٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهَا، فَشَرِبَ مِنْ فَمِهَا، فَقَامَتْ إِلَى فَمِ الْقِرْبَةِ، فَقَطَعَتْهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, and there was a waterskin hanging there. He (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and went to it and drank from its mouth; then she got up, went to the mouth of the waterskin and cut it off.
