باب من يعرف من النساء بالكنى لمن لم ينته إلينا أسماؤهن ممن لهن صحبة فمنهن أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف — ما أسندت أم سليم
Chapter: Women known by their kunyahs whose names have not reached us, among the female Companions; among them is Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) — Reports Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو عَلْقَمَةَ الْفَرْوِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: أَيْنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَتْ: فِي الْبَيْتِ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ مَكَثْتُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ أَمْكُثَ، ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «يَا عَائِشَةُ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكِ السَّلَامَ»
Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I went to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked: Where is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? She said: He is in the house; revelation is coming down upon him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then I stayed for as long as Allah willed, then I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "O Aishah! This is Jibril (peace be upon him); he is conveying greetings of peace to you."
