باب من يعرف من النساء بالكنى لمن لم ينته إلينا أسماؤهن ممن لهن صحبة فمنهن أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف — ما أسندت أم سليم
Chapter: Women known by their kunyahs whose names have not reached us, among the female Companions; among them is Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) — Reports Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ، أَنَّهَا «اسْتَفْتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَحَاضَتْ، أَوْ وَلَدَتْ بَعْدَمَا أَفَاضَتْ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، فَأَذِنَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَخَرَجَتْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Sulaym bint Milhan (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for a ruling when she had begun menstruating, or had given birth, after performing Tawaf al-Ifadah on the Day of Sacrifice. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her permission, so she departed.
