Sayyiduna Suwayd bin Hubayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); in one narration the words are: He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The best of a man's wealth is an obedient horse and a pollinated date palm."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of Imam Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).

Then Sayyiduna Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Allah, forgiveness is sought; camels and women as well (were beloved to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)).
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of Imam Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Dharr, remember what I am about to tell you: a young goat that comes to a Muslim man is better for him than gold the size of Mount Uhud that he leaves behind him. O Abu Dharr, remember what I am telling you: those who have much will be those who have little on the Day of Resurrection, except the one who does this and this (that is, spends in the way of Allah). O Abu Dharr, remember what I am telling you: goodness has been placed in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) Indeed, goodness is in the forelock of the horse."
Imam Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu al-Aswad al-Ghifari, who is da'if (weak).

Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah; there is weakness in him, and his hadith is hasan (good).
Imam Ahmad recorded it as a more complete narration than this, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); it will come one chapter after this.

Their urine and their dung, for their owners, will be of the musk of Paradise in the presence of Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection."

Whoever keeps a horse tethered in the way of Allah, spending on it is like one who stretches out his hand to give in charity and does not withdraw it."

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a horse, which he gave as a gift to a man from the Ansar. He used to hear its neighing; then he found it missing, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the man: "What has become of your horse?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, I have castrated it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the forelocks of horses there is goodness and spoils until the Day of Resurrection. Their forelocks are their source of warmth, and their tails are their fly-whisks."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Rashid bin Yahya al-Mari, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared da'if (weak), while Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy) and said: He makes mistakes and contradicts (other narrators).

As for the horse of man, it is the one used for riding and on which loads are carried. As for the horse of Satan, it is the one on which wagers are made and gambling is done."
