Hadith Beginning with the Letter Alif (أ)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, for this night was shown to me, then I was made to forget it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek Laylat al-Qadr on the twenty-seventh night."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Look (for something as a dowry), even if it is only an iron ring."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek it (that is, Laylat al-Qadr) in the last ten days; then if one of you becomes weak or unable, let him by no means slacken in the remaining seven nights."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek it (Laylat al-Qadr) in the last ten days: when nine nights remain, or seven remain, or five remain, or three remain, or on the last night."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek it (that is, Laylat al-Qadr) in the last ten days of Ramadan: when nine nights remain, and when seven nights remain, and when five nights remain."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek it in the last ten days of Ramadan, and seek it on the ninth (remaining), the seventh and the fifth (night)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Give the fixed shares to those entitled to them, then whatever remains is the right of the nearest male relative (asabah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Cling to your house (that is, remain confined to your home in times of tribulation)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Cling to her (your mother's) feet (that is, serve her well), for Paradise is there."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to her (that is, remain devoted to her service), for Paradise is beneath her feet." (He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this with reference to the mother.)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to 'Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram' (O Possessor of Majesty and Honour) (that is, repeat this phrase often in your supplications)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Remove the hair of (the time of) disbelief, then get yourself circumcised."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah alone is the Physician."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty is with the judge as long as he does not act unjustly; when he acts unjustly, Allah abandons him and Satan attaches himself to him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah and His Messenger are the guardian of the one who has no guardian, and the maternal uncle is the heir of the one who has no heir."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, place my most abundant provision in my old age and in the last part of my life."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, place in Madinah twice the blessing that You have placed in Makkah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, make the provision of the family of Muhammad in this world a bare sufficiency (only as much as is enough to get by)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, make the death of my Ummah martyrdom in Your path, by the thrust of the spear and by the plague."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, place light in my heart, place light in my tongue, place light in my sight, place light in my hearing, place light on my right, place light on my left, place light above me, place light beneath me, place light in front of me, place light behind me, and place light within my soul, and make the light great for me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, protect me through Islam while standing, protect me through Islam while sitting, and protect me through Islam while lying down, and do not let any enemy or envier rejoice over me. O Allah, I ask You for every good whose treasures are in Your hand, and I seek refuge in You from every evil whose treasures are in Your hand."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, keep me alive as a poor, humble person, cause me to die as a poor, humble person, and raise me among the company of the poor and humble."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, conceal my faults, turn my fear into security, and settle my debt for me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs; set right for me my worldly life, in which is my livelihood; and set right for me my Hereafter, to which I must return. Make life a means of increase for me in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, forgive me my sin, my ignorance and my excess in my affairs, and forgive me what You know better than I do. O Allah, forgive me my mistakes, what I did intentionally, my jesting and my seriousness; all of this is present in me. O Allah, forgive me what I have sent ahead and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have made public. You are the One who brings forward and You are the One who puts back, and You have power over all things."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, forgive me my sin, make my home spacious for me, and bless me in my provision."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, forgive all my sins and my errors. O Allah, revive me, remedy my weakness, and guide me to good deeds and good character, for none guides to their good and none turns away their evil except You."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and join me with the Highest Companion."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, grant us such fear of You as will stand between us and disobedience to You, such obedience to You as will bring us to Your Paradise, and such certainty as will make the calamities of this world easy for us. Let us benefit from our hearing, our sight and our strength for as long as You keep us alive, and make it the heir from us. Take our revenge on those who have wronged us, and help us against those who show enmity towards us. Do not place our calamity in our religion, do not make this world our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge, and do not give power over us to those who will show us no mercy."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, let me benefit from my hearing and my sight until You make them my heir, grant me well-being in my religion and in my body, and help me against whoever has wronged me until You show me my revenge upon him. O Allah, I have surrendered myself to You, entrusted my affair to You, placed my back under Your support and turned my face towards You. There is no place of refuge and no escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Messenger whom You sent and in Your Book which You revealed."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, You created my soul and You will take it in death; its death and its life belong to You. If You keep it alive, protect it, and if You cause it to die, forgive it. O Allah, I ask You for well-being."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) made Makkah a sanctuary and declared it sacred, and I have declared Madinah sacred between its two mountain passes: no blood is to be shed in it, no weapon is to be carried in it for fighting, and none of its trees is to be cut for any purpose other than fodder. O Allah, bless us in our city; O Allah, bless us in our sa'; O Allah, bless us in our mudd; O Allah, grant two blessings along with the blessing. By the One in whose hand is my soul, there is no mountain pass or road of Madinah but that two angels are appointed over it to guard it, until you advance to it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was Your servant and Your intimate friend; he supplicated to You for blessing for the people of Makkah. And I am Muhammad, Your servant and Your Messenger; I supplicate to You for the people of Madinah, that You bless them in their mudd and their sa' as much as You blessed the people of Makkah, indeed, two blessings along with the blessing."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, I make a covenant with You which You will never break: I am only a human being, so whichever believer I have hurt, or reviled, or flogged, or cursed, make it for him a mercy, a purification and a means of nearness by which You bring him near to Yourself on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, I ask You for chastity and well-being in my worldly life, my religion, my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults, turn my fear into security, and protect me from in front of me, from behind me, from my right, from my left and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being seized unawares from beneath me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity and self-sufficiency."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"'Allahumma inni as'aluka mina al-khayri kullihi, 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam a'lam, wa a'udhu bika mina ash-sharri kullihi, 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam a'lam. Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayri ma sa'alaka bihi 'abduka wa nabiyyuka, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'adha bihi 'abduka wa nabiyyuka. Allahumma inni as'aluka al-jannata wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal, wa a'udhu bika mina an-nari wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal, wa as'aluka an taj'ala kulla qada'in qadaytahu li khayra' (O Allah, I ask You for every kind of good, whether it comes soon or late, what I know of it and what I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from every kind of evil, whether it comes soon or late, what I know of it and what I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your servant and Your Prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your servant and Your Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for every word and deed that brings one near to it, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from every word and deed that brings one near to it, and I implore You to make every decree You have decreed for me good for me)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"'Allahumma inni as'aluka mina al-khayri kullihi ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam a'lam, wa a'udhu bika mina ash-sharri kullihi ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam a'lam' (O Allah, I ask You for every kind of good, whether I know it or do not know it, and I seek refuge in You from every kind of evil, whether I know it or do not know it)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika wa rahmatik, fa innahu la yamlikuha illa ant' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty and Your mercy, for no one but You has any control over them)."
