Hadith Beginning with the Letter Alif (أ)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His Book, the meeting with Him and His messengers, and that you also believe in being raised again after death."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers and the Last Day, and that you also believe in the divine decree, its good and its bad."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His Books and His messengers, and believe in Paradise, Hell and the Scale (the balance for weighing deeds), and believe in being brought back to life after death, and also believe in the divine decree, its good and its bad."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith has seventy-odd doors (branches). The lowest of them is removing something harmful from the road, and the highest is affirming 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith has seventy-odd branches. The most excellent of them is affirming 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah), and the lowest branch is removing something harmful from the road; and modesty (haya) is also a branch of faith."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith has sixty-odd branches, and modesty (haya) is also an (important) branch of faith."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is a restraint against treacherous, sudden killing; no believer kills anyone treacherously."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is Yemeni (that is, the faith of the people of Yemen holds a very lofty station)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is Yemeni. Listen! Harshness and hardness of hearts are among the loud-voiced herdsmen who follow behind the camels, where the two horns of Satan rise, (that is,) among the tribes of Rabi'ah and Mudar."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is Yemeni, but the trials are over there, and from that very place (towards the east) the horn of Satan will rise."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Faith is Yemeni, disbelief is towards the east, tranquillity and dignity belong to those who keep sheep and goats, while pride and showing off are among the loud-voiced owners of horses and camels. (Then he said:) The Messiah (the Dajjal) will come, and when he reaches behind Mount Uhud, the angels will turn his face towards Syria (al-Sham), and there he will perish."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The one on the right has the first right, then (the one after him) on the right."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Those on the right (have the first right), those on the right (have the first right), those on the right (have the first right)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A previously married woman (a widow or divorcee) has more right over her own decision than her guardian, and a virgin girl too is to be asked for her permission regarding her marriage, and her permission is her silence."
