«اللهم إن إبراهيم حرم مكة فجعلها حراما وإني حرمت المدينة ما بين مأزميها أن لا يراق فيها دم ولا يحمل فيها سلاح لقتال ولا يخبط فيها شجرة إلا لعلف اللهم بارك لنا في مدينتنا اللهم بارك لنا في صاعنا اللهم بارك لنا في مدنا اللهم اجعل مع البركة بركتين والذي نفسي بيده ما من المدينة شعب ولا نقب إلا عليه ملكان يحرسانها حتى تقدموا إليها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) made Makkah a sanctuary and declared it sacred, and I have declared Madinah sacred between its two mountain passes: no blood is to be shed in it, no weapon is to be carried in it for fighting, and none of its trees is to be cut for any purpose other than fodder. O Allah, bless us in our city; O Allah, bless us in our sa'; O Allah, bless us in our mudd; O Allah, grant two blessings along with the blessing. By the One in whose hand is my soul, there is no mountain pass or road of Madinah but that two angels are appointed over it to guard it, until you advance to it."
