Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I tell you of a deed that is the best and purest in the sight of your Master, that raises your ranks the most, that is better for you than spending gold and silver, and better for you than meeting your enemy, with them striking your necks and you striking their necks? (That thing) is the remembrance of Allah."
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds, which is purest in the sight of your Master, most fitting for raising your ranks, better for you than spending gold and silver, and even better than that you should meet the enemy tomorrow and strike their necks and they strike your necks?" The people submitted: Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remembering Allah."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Ziyad bin Abi Ziyad, the freed slave of Ibn Ayyash, did not meet Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
