The virtue of remembering Allah and doing so abundantly

وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَوْصِنِي ، قَالَ : " عَلَيْكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ ، وَاذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ حَجَرٍ ، وَشَجَرٍ ، وَمَا عَمِلْتَ مِنْ سُوءٍ فَأَحْدِثْ لِلَّهِ فِيهِ تَوْبَةً ، السِّرُّ بِالسِّرِّ ، وَالْعَلَانِيَةُ بِالْعَلَانِيَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I submitted: O Messenger of Allah, advise me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold to the fear of Allah (taqwa) as much as you are able, remember Allah beside every stone and tree, and whatever evil you commit, make a fresh repentance to Allah for it: the secret (sin) with secret (repentance), and the open with the open."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
