بَابُ فَضْلِ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ، وَالْإِكْثَارِ مِنْهُ

وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا عَمِلَ آدَمِيٌّ عَمَلًا أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ - تَعَالَى - مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " . قَالُوا : وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلَا الْجِهَادُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَضْرِبَ بِسَيْفِهِ حَتَّى يَنْقَطِعَ " . ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person does no deed that saves him from the punishment of Allah more than the remembrance of Allah." The people submitted: Not even jihad in the path of Allah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even jihad, except in the case where a man keeps striking with his sword until it (the sword) breaks." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times.
