Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person does no deed that saves him from the punishment of Allah more than the remembrance of Allah Almighty." Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds, which is purest in the sight of your Master, most fitting for raising your ranks, better for you than spending gold and silver, and even better than that you should meet the enemy tomorrow and strike their necks and they strike your necks?" The people submitted: Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remembering Allah."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Ziyad bin Abi Ziyad, the freed slave of Ibn Ayyash, did not meet Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
