Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The mufridun have gone ahead." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is meant by the mufridun?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who are absorbed in the remembrance of Allah."
(Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
This report is in the Sahih, but without these words: "Those who are absorbed in the remembrance of Allah."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Abu Ya'qub, the student of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), whom I do not know. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
