Malik bin Yukhamir narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said to those people: "In the last conversation I had with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when parting from him, I asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Which deed is most beloved to Allah Almighty? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'That you die while your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, and in this route there is the narrator Khalid bin Yazid bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Malik, whom a group declared da'if (weak), while Abu Zur'ah al-Dimashqi and others declared him thiqah (trustworthy); the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
Al-Bazzar recorded it through another route, but he narrated these words: "Tell me of the most virtuous deed and the one most beloved to Allah Almighty."
The chain of this report is hasan (good).
