Hadith Beginning with the Letter Ya (ي)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A generation will arise who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. Whenever a group of them emerges it will be cut off; whenever a group emerges it will be cut off, until the Dajjal emerges among their remnants."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"(Water) is to be sprinkled on the urine of a baby boy, and the urine of a baby girl is to be washed."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The son of Adam grows old, but two things remain with him: greed and hope."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The son of Adam grows old, but two things in him stay young (and fresh): greed for wealth and greed for (a long) life."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"This tribe of Quraysh will destroy the people. The Companions said: Then what do you command us? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If only the people would keep away from them."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The people of Madinah are to enter ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah, the people of Syria from al-Juhfah, the people of Najd from Qarn, and the people of Yemen from Yalamlam."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the Day of Resurrection, when the people of affliction are given their reward, the people of well-being will wish that their skins had been cut with scissors in the world."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon one of you will start praying the Fajr prayer as four rak'ahs."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon the Euphrates (river) will uncover a mountain of gold. When people hear of it, they will set out towards it, and whoever is near it will say: By Allah! If we let the people take from it, they will carry it all away. So they will fight one another over it until ninety-nine out of every hundred are killed."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon the Euphrates will uncover a treasure of gold, so whoever is present there should not take anything from it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon the Muslims will be besieged into Madinah, until their farthest outpost will be Salah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon people will keep questioning one another until one of them says: This is Allah, who created the creation; then who created Allah? When they say that, recite: Allah is One; Allah is the Self-Sufficient; He neither begets nor was He begotten; and there is none equal to Him. Then let him spit dryly to his left three times and seek refuge (with Allah) from Satan."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon the (hostile) nations will fall upon you from every side, just as diners fall upon their dish. It was said: O Messenger of Allah, will we be few in number on that day? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, but you will be (worthless) like the scum of a flood. Weakness (wahn) will be put into your hearts, and awe of you will be removed from the hearts of your enemy, because you love the world and hate death."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If your life is prolonged, you will soon see people with things like the tails of cattle in their hands; they will go out in the morning under the wrath of Allah and return in the evening under the displeasure of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon there will come a time in which people will be thoroughly sifted, and only the dregs of people will remain, whose covenants and trusts will have become confused, and they will differ like this - and he (peace and blessings be upon him) interlaced his fingers. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, what should we do then? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adopt what you recognise (as good), leave what you do not recognise (as evil), attend to your own particular affairs, and leave the affairs of the general public."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon a man will be sitting reclining on his couch, and a narration of mine will be related to him, and he will say: Between us and you there is only the Book of Allah (to judge); whatever we find lawful in it we will treat as lawful, and whatever we find unlawful in it we will treat as unlawful. Beware! Whatever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has made unlawful is just like what Allah has made unlawful."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon the best wealth of a Muslim will be goats, with which he follows the mountain peaks and the places where rain falls, fleeing from trials (to keep) his religion (safe)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Mu'adh! If your life is prolonged, you will soon see this place here filled with gardens."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Sirat (bridge) will be placed across the middle of Hell, with thorns on it like the thorns of the sa'dan (a thorny plant). Then people will pass over it: some will be saved unharmed, some will be saved after being scratched, then some will be saved, some will be caught (in the thorns), and some will fall headlong into it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Friday has twelve hours; among them is an hour in which no Muslim servant asks Allah for anything but that Allah certainly gives it to him. So seek it in the last hour after Asr."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The day of the Greater Hajj is the day of sacrifice (the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The day of Eid al-Fitr, the day of sacrifice and the days of Tashriq are the days of Eid for us, the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Day of Resurrection will be for the believers (as light) as the length of time between Zuhr and Asr."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"An orphan girl is to be consulted about her (marriage); if she remains silent, that is her permission, and if she refuses, (the marriage) is not permissible over her."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and (in spending) begin with those who are under your care."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin with those who are under your care. The best charity is that which is given while one is in a state of affluence. Whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah makes him self-sufficient, and whoever seeks chastity (by refraining from begging), Allah grants him chastity."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The upper hand is better than the lower hand; the upper hand is the one that spends and the lower hand is the one that asks."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"An oath is (valid) according to that on which your companion believes you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"An oath is according to the intention of the one who demands the oath."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Promised Day is the Day of Resurrection, the Witness (shahid) is the day of Friday, and the Witnessed (mashhud, that which is attended) is the day of Arafah. Allah has reserved the day of Friday especially for us, and the middle prayer is the Asr prayer."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Promised Day is the Day of Resurrection, the Witnessed Day is the day of Arafah, and the Witness is the day of Friday. The sun has not risen nor set upon any day better than it. In it there is an hour such that no Muslim servant happens upon it, asking Allah for some good, except that Allah surely answers him, and he does not seek refuge from any evil except that Allah surely grants him refuge from it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Jews are those upon whom is wrath (maghdub alayhim), and the Christians are those astray (dallin)."
