«اليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى وابدأ بمن تعول وخير الصدقة ما كان عن ظهر غنى ومن يستغن يغنه الله ومن يستعفف يعفه الله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin with those who are under your care. The best charity is that which is given while one is in a state of affluence. Whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah makes him self-sufficient, and whoever seeks chastity (by refraining from begging), Allah grants him chastity."
