" يوشك أن يأتي زمان يغربل فيه الناس غربلة، وتبقى حثالة من الناس قد مرجت عهودهم وأماناتهم واختلفوا فكانوا هكذا - وشبك بين أصابعه - قالوا: كيف بنا يا رسول الله؟ قال: تأخذون ما تعرفون وتدعون ما تنكرون وتقبلون على أمر خاصتكم وتذرون أمر عامتكم"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon there will come a time in which people will be thoroughly sifted, and only the dregs of people will remain, whose covenants and trusts will have become confused, and they will differ like this - and he (peace and blessings be upon him) interlaced his fingers. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, what should we do then? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adopt what you recognise (as good), leave what you do not recognise (as evil), attend to your own particular affairs, and leave the affairs of the general public."
