Hadith Beginning with the Letter Alif (أ)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, every prophet has, from among the prophets, some who are his allies (friends and patrons), and indeed my ally is my father and the Intimate Friend of my Lord (Sayyiduna Ibrahim, peace be upon him)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, you will have as much reward as you intended and hoped for (from Allah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, you will have reward in proportion to your toil and your spending."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, for every step (taken towards the mosque) you will have a degree (of elevation)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Islam too has, like the waymarks of a road, certain shining signs and minarets (for guidance)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has vessels among the people of the earth, and the vessels of your Lord are the hearts of His righteous servants, and the dearest of them to Allah are those that are the softest and most tender."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has certain servants whom He singles out with special blessings for the benefit of other servants, and He keeps those blessings with them as long as they keep spending them. Then when they withhold them, He takes them away from them and transfers them to others."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, among the people there are some who belong to Allah Almighty. (The Companions asked who they were, and he said:) The people of the Qur'an are the people of Allah and His chosen ones."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has ninety-nine names, that is, one hundred less one. Whoever memorises them (and acts upon what they require) will enter Paradise."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has ninety-nine names, that is, one hundred less one. Whoever memorises them will enter Paradise. And He is Odd (One), and He loves what is odd."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has certain servants who recognise people through insight (and the signs in their faces)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, in every day and night Allah Almighty has servants whom He frees (from Hell), and each servant among them has one supplication that is certainly answered."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, at every time of breaking the fast, Allah Almighty frees people from the Fire of Hell, and this happens every night (of Ramadan)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, to Allah Almighty belongs what He has taken, and to Him belongs what He has given, and with Him everything has an appointed term."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah has one hundred mercies. Of them He has sent down only one mercy among the jinn, humans, animals and insects. Through it they show affection to one another, through it they show mercy to one another, and through it the wild beasts show tenderness to their young. And He has deferred (and preserved) ninety-nine mercies, through which He will show mercy to His servants on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has certain angels, besides the angels who write down the deeds of people, who roam about the earth. They go around the roads searching for the people of remembrance. So when they find a people remembering Allah, they call out to one another: 'Come to what you are seeking.' Then they surround them with their wings up to the lowest heaven. Then their Lord asks them, though He knows better than them: 'What are My servants saying?' The angels say: 'They are glorifying You, proclaiming Your greatness, praising You and extolling Your majesty.' Allah says: 'Have they seen Me?' The angels say: 'No, by Allah! They have not seen You.' Allah says: 'What would their state be if they saw Me?' The angels say: 'If they saw You, they would worship You even more, extol Your majesty even more and glorify You even more.' Allah says: 'Then what do they ask of Me?' The angels say: 'They ask You for Paradise.' Allah says: 'Have they seen it?' The angels say: 'No, by Allah! O Lord, they have not seen it.' Allah says: 'What would their state be if they saw it?' The angels say: 'If they saw it, they would be even more eager for it, seek it even more and have even greater longing for it.' Allah says: 'Then from what do they seek refuge?' The angels say: 'From the Fire (of Hell).' Allah says: 'Have they seen it?' The angels say: 'No, by Allah! O Lord, they have not seen it.' Allah says: 'What would their state be if they saw it?' The angels say: 'If they saw it, they would flee from it even more and fear it even more.' Allah says: 'Then I make you witnesses that I have forgiven them.' One of the angels says: 'Among them is so-and-so, who is not one of them; he only came for some need!' Allah says: 'They are such people that even the one who sits with them is not left wretched.'"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has certain angels who roam about the earth; they convey to me the salam (greeting of peace) of my nation."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has certain angels on the earth who make the tongues of the children of Adam speak of the good and the evil that is in a person."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has an angel to whom He has given the ability to hear the voices of the servants, so no one sends blessings (durud) upon me except that he conveys it to me. And I have asked my Lord that whichever servant sends blessings upon me once, Allah Almighty sends down ten mercies upon him in return."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, repentance has a door, the width between its two leaves being as much as the distance between the east and the west. It will not be closed until the sun rises from its place of setting."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the prayer has an earliest time and a latest time. The earliest time of the Zuhr prayer is when the sun passes its zenith, and its latest time is when the time of Asr begins. The earliest time of Asr is when its time begins, and its latest time is when the sun turns yellow. The earliest time of Maghrib is when the sun sets, and its latest time is when the twilight (redness) disappears. The earliest time of Isha is when the twilight disappears, and its latest time is when half the night has passed. And the earliest time of Fajr is when the (true) dawn appears, and its latest time is when the sun rises."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the one who eats and gives thanks has as much reward as the fasting person who is patient."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the grave has a squeezing (a pressing), and if anyone were to be saved from it, Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) would certainly have been saved from it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a man of Quraysh has the strength of two men who are not from Quraysh."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, in Paradise the believer will have a tent made of a single hollow pearl, sixty miles long. In it the believer will have wives, and the believer will go around to each of them in turn, yet (because of its vastness) they will not see one another."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, death has a terror, so when you see a funeral procession, stand up."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, this stone (the Black Stone) has a tongue and two lips; on the Day of Resurrection it will bear witness in favour of whoever kissed it with sincerity (haqq)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, these camels have a wildness and a tendency to bolt like that of wild animals, so if any of them gets the better of you (that is, goes out of control), then treat it like this (that is, bring it under control by shooting it with an arrow)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, these houses have certain dwellers (jinn), so when you see any of them (a snake or the like), then strictly warn them (admonish them) for three days; if it goes away, well and good, otherwise kill it, for it is a disbeliever (a rebellious devil)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, it contains fat." (According to the narrator, this refers to milk.)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, he has a wet nurse in Paradise." (This refers to his son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim.)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, I have five names: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am al-Hashir, at whose feet the people will be gathered, I am al-Mahi, through whom Allah will erase disbelief, and I am al-Aqib (the one who comes after all)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the distance between the two leaves of a door of Paradise is equal to a journey of forty years."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, whatever has been decreed (destined) in the womb will certainly come to be."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the example of the one who does evil deeds and then does good deeds is like a man wearing a tight coat of mail that is choking him. Then he does a good deed and one ring (of the mail) comes loose, then he does another good deed and another ring comes loose, until it (comes completely undone and) falls to the ground (that is, he becomes completely free from the burden of sins)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the example of the one who takes back his gift (present) after giving it is like a dog that ate until, when it was full, it vomited, then returned to its vomit and ate it again."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, wiping (that is, touching) the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner sheds sins away completely."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the food of the son of Adam has been made an example for this world; however much spice and salt he adds to it (however tasty he makes it), just see what it finally turns into (that is, filth)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, when the Dajjal emerges, he will have water and fire with him. What people see as fire will in reality be cold water, and what people see as cold water will be burning fire. So whoever among you lives to see him should plunge into what he sees as fire, for it will in fact be sweet, cold water."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty made Makkah sacred; it was not people who made it sacred. So it is not lawful for anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day to shed blood in it, nor to cut down any of its trees. If anyone seeks a concession on the grounds that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fought in Makkah, then say to him: 'Indeed, Allah permitted His Messenger, but He did not permit you.' And even I was permitted only for an hour of a day, then today its sanctity has returned just as it was yesterday. And let the one who is present convey this to the one who is absent."
