«إن مثل الذي يعمل السيئات ثم يعمل الحسنات كمثل رجل كانت عليه درع ضيقة قد خنقته ثم عمل حسنة فانفكت حلقة ثم عمل أخرى فانفكت الأخرى حتى يخرج إلى الأرض»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the example of the one who does evil deeds and then does good deeds is like a man wearing a tight coat of mail that is choking him. Then he does a good deed and one ring (of the mail) comes loose, then he does another good deed and another ring comes loose, until it (comes completely undone and) falls to the ground (that is, he becomes completely free from the burden of sins)."
