"إن رجلا لم يعمل خيرا قط وكان يداين الناس فيقول لرسوله: خذ ما تيسر واترك ما عسر وتجاوز لعل الله أن يتجاوز عنا فلما هلك قال الله: هل عملت خيرا قط؟ قال: لا إلا أنه كان لي غلام كنت أداين الناس فإذا بعثته يتقاضى قلت له: خذ ما تيسر واترك ما عسر وتجاوز لعل الله أن يتجاوز عنا قال الله: قد ¤ تجاوزت عنك"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a man had never done any good deed except that he used to lend to people, and he would say to his agent (servant): 'Take what is easy, leave what is difficult, and overlook; perhaps Allah will overlook our faults.' When he died, Allah Almighty said: 'Did you ever do any good deed?' He said: 'No, except that I had a servant, and I used to lend to people; when I sent him to collect, I would say to him: Take what is easy, leave what is difficult, and overlook; perhaps Allah will overlook our faults too.' So Allah Almighty said: 'I have overlooked your faults.'"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the Angel of Death came to a man from among those before you to take his soul, and said to him: 'Have you done any good?' He said: 'I do not recall anything like that.' He was told: 'Think carefully.' He said: 'I cannot think of any good deed, except that I used to trade and do business with people, and I would give respite to the one in hardship and forgive (or be lenient with) the well-off.' So Allah admitted him into Paradise."

«إن رجلا من أهل الجنة استأذن ربه في الزرع فقال له: ألست فيما شئت؟ قال: بلى ولكن أحب أن أزرع! فبذر فبادر الطرف نباته واستواؤه واستحصاده فكان أمثال الجبال فيقول الله: دونك يا ابن آدم! فإنه لا يشبعك شيء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a man from the people of Paradise asked his Lord for permission to farm. Allah said: 'Are you not in whatever you wish?' He said: 'Of course! But I love to farm.' So he sowed seed, and in the blink of an eye it sprouted, stood upright and became ready for harvest, and it became like mountains. Then Allah said: 'Take it, O son of Adam! For nothing satisfies you.'"

"إن رجلا من بني إسرائيل سأل بعض بني إسرائيل أن يسلفه ألف دينار فقال: ائتني بالشهداء أشهدهم فقال: كفى بالله شهيدا قال: فأتني بالكفيل قال: كفى بالله وكيلا قال: صدقت فدفعها إليه إلى أجل مسمى فخرج في البحر فقضى حاجته ثم التمس مركبا يركبها يقدم عليه للأجل الذي أجله فلم يجد مركبا فأخذ خشبة فنقرها فأدخل فيها ألف دينار وصحيفة منه إلى صاحبه ثم زج موضعها ثم أتى بها إلى البحر فقال: اللهم إنك تعلم أني تسلفت فلانا ألف دينار فسألني كفيلا فقلت: كفى بالله وكيلا فرضي بك وسألني شهيدا فقلت: كفى بالله شهيدا فرضي بك وإني جهدت أن أجد مركبا أبعث إليه الذي له فلم أجد وإني أستودعكها فرمى بها إلى البحر حتى ولجت فيه ثم انصرف وهو في ذلك يلتمس مركبا يخرج ¤ إلى بلده فخرج الرجل الذي كان أسلفه ينظر لعل مركبا قد جاء بماله فإذا بالخشبة التي فيها المال فأخذها لأهله حطبا فلما نشرها وجد المال والصحيفة ثم قدم الذي كان أسلفه فأتى بالألف دينار وقال: والله ما زلت جاهدا في طلب مركب لآتيك بمالك فما وجدت مركبا قبل الذي أتيت فيه قال: هل كنت بعثت إلي شيئا؟ قال: أخبرك أني لم أجد مركبا قبل الذي جئت فيه قال: فإن الله قد أدى عنك الذي بعثت في الخشبة فانصرف بالألف دينار راشدا"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man from the Children of Israel asked another man from the Children of Israel to lend him a thousand dinars. He said: 'Bring me witnesses so that I may call them to witness.' He said: 'Allah is sufficient as a Witness.' He said: 'Then bring me a guarantor.' He said: 'Allah is sufficient as a Guardian.' He said: 'You have spoken the truth,' and he gave it to him for a fixed term. The man went out on a sea journey and fulfilled his need, then he looked for a ship to board so that he could return by the term that had been fixed, but he found no ship. So he took a piece of wood, hollowed it out, placed in it a thousand dinars and a letter to his companion, then sealed up the opening, then brought it to the sea and said: 'O Allah! You know that I borrowed a thousand dinars from so-and-so. He asked me for a guarantor and I said: Allah is sufficient as a Guardian, and he was content with You. He asked me for a witness and I said: Allah is sufficient as a Witness, and he was content with You. I have tried hard to find a ship by which to send him what is his, but I have found none, and now I entrust it to You.' Then he threw it into the sea until it went into it. Then he went back, while still looking for a ship to take him to his town. Meanwhile the man who had lent to him went out to see whether some ship had come with his money, and he found the very piece of wood that contained the money. He took it as firewood for his family. When he sawed it open, he found the money and the letter. Then the one who had borrowed arrived, bringing a thousand dinars, and said: 'By Allah! I kept trying hard to find a ship so that I could bring you your money, but I found no ship before the one in which I have come.' He said: 'Did you send me anything?' He said: 'I am telling you that I found no ship before the one in which I came.' He said: 'Indeed, Allah Almighty has delivered on your behalf what you sent in the piece of wood, so go back with your thousand dinars, rightly guided.'"

«إن رجلا ممن كان قبلكم خرجت به قرحة فلما آذته انتزع سهما من كنانته فنكأها فلم يرقأ الدم حتى مات فقال الله: عبدي بادرني بنفسه حرمت عليه الجنة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Among the nations before you there was a man who developed an ulcer. When it caused him severe pain, he drew an arrow from his quiver and lanced it. Then his blood did not stop until he died. So Allah Almighty said: 'My servant hastened to Me with his own life; therefore I have made Paradise forbidden to him.'"

«إن رجلا يأتيكم من اليمن يقال له: أويس لا يدع باليمن غير أم له قد كان به بياض فدعا الله فأذهبه عنه إلا مثل موضع الدرهم فمن لقيه منكم فمروه فليستغفر لكم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man called Uways will come to you from Yemen. He will leave no one behind in Yemen except his mother. He had leprosy (white patches), so he supplicated to Allah Almighty and Allah removed the illness from him, except for a spot the size of a dirham. So whoever among you meets him, let him ask him (Uways) to seek forgiveness from Allah for you."

«إن روح القدس معك ما هاجيتهم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Ruh al-Qudus (that is, Jibril (peace be upon him)) is with you as long as you answer their (the polytheists') satire (with your poetry)."

"إن روح القدس نفث في روعي أن نفسا لن تموت حتى تستكمل أجلها وتستوعب رزقها فاتقوا الله وأجملوا في الطلب ولا يحملن أحدكم استبطاء الرزق أن يطلبه بمعصية الله فإن الله ¤ تعالى لا ينال ما عنده إلا بطاعته"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Ruh al-Qudus (that is, Jibril (peace be upon him)) has put into my heart that no soul will die until it completes its appointed term and receives its provision in full. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking provision. And let not delay in provision ever drive any of you to seek it through disobedience to Allah, for what is with Allah Almighty can only be attained through obedience to Him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Ruh al-Qudus (that is, Jibril (peace be upon him)) will continue to support you as long as you defend Allah and His Messenger." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this to Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him).

«إن زاهرا باديتنا ونحن حاضروه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Zahir is our desert (friend) and we are his town (friends)."

«إن ساقي القوم آخرهم شربا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The one who gives water to the people drinks last of all."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar (Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest) shake off sins just as a tree sheds its leaves."

«إن سليمان بن داود لما بنى بيت المقدس سأل الله عز وجل خلالا ثلاثة: سأل الله حكما يصادف حكمه فأوتيه وسأل الله ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد من بعده فأوتيه وسأل الله حين فرغ من بناء المسجد أن لا يأتيه أحد لا ينهزه إلا الصلاة فيه أن يخرجه من خطيئته كيوم ولدته أمه أما اثنتان فقد أعطيهما وأرجوا أن يكون قد أعطي الثالثة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, when Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon them both) built Bayt al-Maqdis, he asked Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for three things: he asked Allah for the ability to judge in a way that accords with His (Allah's) judgement, and he was granted it. And he asked Allah for a kingdom such as would befit no one after him, and he was granted that too. And he asked Allah, when he finished building the mosque, that whoever comes to this mosque with no purpose other than to pray in it, Allah would cleanse him of his sins as on the day his mother bore him. The first two were granted to him, and I hope that the third was also granted to him."

"A surah of the Qur'an, which has thirty verses, interceded for a man until he was forgiven, and it is: Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion." [Surah al-Mulk: 1]

«إن سورة من كتاب الله ما هي إلا ثلاثون آية شفعت لرجل فأخرجته من النار وأدخلته الجنة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a surah of the Book of Allah (the Qur'an), which has only thirty verses, interceded for a man, so it brought him out of Hell and admitted him into Paradise."

«إن سياحة أمتي الجهاد في سبيل الله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the travel (that is, going out in the land) of my Ummah is jihad in the path of Allah."

«إن شر الرعاء الحطمة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the worst shepherd is the one who crushes (his animals through cruelty)." (That is, the ruler who oppresses and wrongs his subjects.)

«إن شر الناس منزلة عند الله يوم القيامة من تركه الناس اتقاء فحشه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the Day of Resurrection, the worst person in rank in the sight of Allah Almighty will be the one whom people left alone to protect themselves from his foul tongue (and evil)."

«إن شهداء أمتي إذن لقليل القتل في سبيل الله شهادة والمطعون شهادة والمرأة تموت بجمع شهادة والغرق والحرق والمجنوب شهادة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If that were so (that is, if only those who die on the battlefield were martyrs), then the martyrs of my Ummah would be very few! Being killed in the path of Allah is martyrdom, dying of the plague is martyrdom, the woman who dies while pregnant (or in childbirth) dies a martyr, and the death of one who dies by drowning, by burning, or from al-majnub (pleurisy) is also martyrdom."

«إن صاحب الشمال ليرفع القلم ست ساعات عن العبد المسلم المخطئ فإن ندم واستغفر الله منها ألقاها وإلا كتبت واحدة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The angel on the left (who records sins) holds back the pen for six hours (or six periods) from the Muslim servant who has erred. Then if he regrets it and seeks Allah's forgiveness for that sin, he discards it (that is, does not record the sin); otherwise, one sin is recorded (in his record of deeds)."

«إن صلاة الرجل في الجماعة تزيد على صلاته وحده بخمس وعشرين جزءا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man's prayer in congregation is superior to his praying alone by twenty-five degrees."

"Indeed, the food of one person suffices for two, the food of two suffices for three and four, and the food of four suffices for five and six."

«إن طول صلاة الرجل وقصر خطبته مئنة من فقهه فأطيلوا الصلاة وأقصروا الخطبة وإن من البيان لسحرا»

"A man's lengthening of his prayer and shortening of his sermon is a sign of his understanding (deep understanding of the religion). So lengthen the prayer and shorten the sermon, and indeed some eloquence (and speech) has (the effect of) magic."

«إن عاشوراء يوم من أيام الله فمن شاء صامه ومن شاء تركه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the day of Ashura (the tenth of Muharram) is one of the days of Allah Almighty. So whoever wishes may fast on it, and whoever wishes may leave it."

«إن عامة عذاب القبر من البول فتنزهوا منه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, most of the punishment of the grave is because of urine (not guarding against its splashes), so guard yourselves against it."

«إن عبدا أصاب ذنبا فقال: رب أذنبت فاغفره فقال ربه: أعلم عبدي أن له ربا يغفر الذنب ويأخذ به؟ غفرت لعبدي ثم مكث ما شاء الله ثم أصاب ذنبا فقال: ربي أذنبت آخر فاغفر لي قال: أعلم عبدي أن له ربا يغفر الذنب ويأخذ به؟ غفرت لعبدي ثم أصاب ذنبا فقال: رب أذنبت آخر فاغفر لي قال: أعلم عبدي أن له ربا يغفر الذنب ويأخذ به؟ قد غفرت لعبدي فليعمل ما شاء»

"Indeed, a servant committed a sin and said: My Lord, I have sinned, so forgive it. His Lord said: Has My servant come to know that he has a Lord who forgives sin and also takes to account for it? I have forgiven My servant. Then he remained as long as Allah willed, then he committed another sin and said: My Lord, I have committed another sin, so forgive me. Allah said: Has My servant come to know that he has a Lord who forgives sin and also takes to account for it? I have forgiven My servant. Then he committed another sin and said: My Lord, I have committed another sin, so forgive it. Allah said: Has My servant come to know that he has a Lord who forgives sin and also takes to account for it? I have forgiven My servant; now let him do as he wishes."

«إن عبد الله بن قيس أعطي مزمارا من مزامير آل داود»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Abdullah bin Qays (Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)) has been given one of the melodious voices of the family of Dawud (peace be upon him)."

«إن عبد الله رجل صالح لو كان يكثر الصلاة من الليل»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"What a righteous man Abdullah is! If only he would pray (the tahajjud) prayer abundantly at night."

"Indeed, Uthman is extremely modest and one who conceals (faults); even the angels feel shy before him."

«إن عثمان رجل حيي وإني خشيت إن أذنت له وأنا على تلك الحال أن لا يبلغ إلي في حاجته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Uthman is a modest man, and I feared that if I permitted him to enter while I was in that (informal) state, he would not (fully) convey his need to me."
"Indeed, Uthman is a modest man, and I feared that if I permitted him to enter while I was in that (informal) state, he would not (fully) convey his need to me."
"إن عدو الله إبليس جاء بشهاب من نار ليجعله ¤ في وجهي فقلت: أعوذ بالله منك ثلاث مرات ثم قلت: ألعنك بلعنة الله التامة فلم يستأخر ثلاث مرات ثم أردت أن آخذه والله لولا دعوة أخينا سليمان لأصبح موثقا يلعب به ولدان أهل المدينة"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the enemy of Allah, Iblis, came with a flame of fire to thrust it into my face. So I said three times: I seek refuge with Allah from you. Then I said three times: I curse you with the complete curse of Allah, but he did not retreat. Then I intended to seize him. By Allah! Were it not for the supplication of our brother Sulayman (peace be upon him), he would have woken up tied up, and the children of the people of Madinah would have played with him."

«إن عذاب هذه الأمة جعل في دنياها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the punishment of this Ummah has been placed in this world."

«إن عظم الجزاء مع عظم البلاء وإن الله تعالى إذا أحب قوما ابتلاهم فمن رضي فله الرضا ومن سخط فله السخط»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the greatness of the reward goes with the greatness of the affliction (that is, the greater the trial, the greater the reward), and indeed when Allah Almighty loves a people, He tests them. So whoever is content, for him is (Allah's) pleasure, and whoever is displeased, for him is (Allah's) displeasure."

«إن عفريتا من الجن تفلت علي البارحة ليقطع على الصلاة فأمكنني الله منه فذعته وأردت أن أربطه إلى سارية من سواري المسجد حتى تصبحوا وتنظروا إليه كلكم فذكرت قول أخي سليمان {رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكاً لا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي} فرده الله خاسئا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Last night a rebellious one from among the jinn suddenly attacked me in order to break my prayer, but Allah Almighty gave me power over him and I choked him. I intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque so that in the morning all of you could see him. But then I remembered this supplication of my brother Sulayman (peace be upon him): 'My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me' [Surah Sad: 35], so Allah Almighty sent him (the jinn) back humiliated and disgraced."

«إن عم الرجل صنو أبيه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a man's paternal uncle is like his father (that is, of the same root and in his place)."

"إن غلظ جلد الكافر اثنان وأربعون ذراعا بذراع ¤ الجبار وإن ضرسه مثل أحد وإن مجلسه من جهنم ما بين مكة والمدينة"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the thickness of the skin of the disbeliever's body will be forty-two cubits by the cubit of al-Jabbar (that is, a man of enormous size), his molar will be the size of (the mountain of) Uhud, and his seat in Hell will be as wide as the distance between Makkah and Madinah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Fatimah is a part of me, and I fear that she will be put to trial in her religion. And indeed I do not make anything lawful unlawful, nor anything unlawful lawful, but by Allah! The daughter of the Messenger of Allah and the daughter of the enemy of Allah will never be joined together in marriage to one man."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the day of the great battle (al-Malhamah al-Kubra), the tent (headquarters) of the Muslims will be in al-Ghutah, beside a city called Damascus, which is one of the best cities of Sham."
