The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Stay with your mother, for in staying with her there is as much reward for you as there is in jihad."
Then another man came and said: I vowed that I would sacrifice myself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became occupied with something, and that man and his mother went away; then it came to be known that he intended to slaughter himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All praise is for Allah, who has placed in my Ummah people who fulfil their vows and fear a Day whose evil is widespread. Do you have wealth?" He said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offer a hundred camels as sacrifice, and spread them over three years, for you will not find anyone who will take them from you all at once."
Then a woman came and said: I have been sent to you on behalf of the women, and there is no woman among them, whether she knows of it or not, except that she loves my coming out to you for this purpose. Allah alone is the Lord and God of men and women, and you are the Messenger of Allah to both men and women. Jihad has been prescribed for men: if they gain spoils they become wealthy, and if they are martyred they are alive with their Lord. So what is there for women equal to their deeds? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Obedience to their husbands and recognition of their rights; and few of you do that."
