حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنْ رِشْدِينَ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السِّقَايَةِ، فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ بِابْنِ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ ابْنِي يُرِيدُ الْغَزْوَ وَأَنَا أَمْنَعُهُ فَقَالَ: «لَا تَبْرَحْ مِنْ أُمِّكَ حَتَّى تَأْذَنَ لَكَ أَوْ يَتَوَفَّاها الْمَوْتُ لِأَنَّهُ أَعْظَمُ لِأَجْرِكَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated at the Siqayah (the place where water is given to the pilgrims), when a woman came with her son and said: "My son wants to go out for jihad, and I am stopping him." He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "Stay with your mother until she gives you permission or death comes to her, for that carries a greater reward for you."
