Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12128 — the Prophet ﷺ sent Sayyiduna Abu Bakr

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the Hajj. He did not go near the Ka'bah, but headed straight for Dhu al-Majaz to teach the people their rites and to convey to them the message of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), until they reached Arafah before Dhu al-Majaz; that was because they had not combined Umrah with Hajj by way of tamattu'.
