Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12117 — the Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever makes a vow

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، وَعَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَعَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا لَمْ يُسَمِّهِ، فَكَفَّارَتُهُ كَفَّارَةُ يَمِينٍ، وَمَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ، فَكَفَّارَتُهُ كَفَّارَةُ يَمِينٍ، وَمَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا لَا يُطِيقُهُ، فَكَفَّارَتُهُ كَفَّارَةُ يَمِينٍ، وَمَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا يُطِيقُهُ فَلْيَفِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever makes a vow and does not specify it, its expiation is like the expiation for an oath; whoever makes a vow to disobey Allah, its expiation too is like the expiation for an oath; whoever makes a vow that he is not able to fulfil, its expiation too is like the expiation for an oath; and whoever makes a vow that he is able to fulfil, let him fulfil it."
