Hadith Beginning with the Letter 'Ayn (ع)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Adopt gentleness, and beware of harshness and obscenity."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Perform tayammum with the earth, for it is sufficient for you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to fasting, for there is no deed like it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to emigration (hijrah), for there is no deed like it. Hold fast to jihad, for there is no deed like it. Hold fast to fasting, for there is no deed like it. Hold fast to prostration, for you will not make any prostration for Allah except that Allah will raise you a degree by it and remove a sin from you by it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Adopt the fear (taqwa) of Allah Almighty, and say the takbir whenever you climb any height."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to comprehensive and concise supplications. Say: O Allah, I ask You for all good, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know; and I seek refuge in You from all evil, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know; and I ask You for Paradise and for every word and deed that brings one near to it; and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from every word and deed that brings one near to it; and I ask You for what Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from what Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sought refuge in You from; and whatever decree You have decreed for me, make its outcome one of right guidance."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to good character and much silence. By the One in whose hand is my soul, creation has not adorned itself with anything like these two."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to speaking well and feeding others."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to prostrating much, for you will not make any prostration for Allah except that Allah will raise you a degree by it and remove a sin from you by it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to those leather waterskins whose mouths are tied."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to doing good, for it saves from an evil death; and hold fast to secret charity, for it extinguishes the anger of the Lord, the Mighty and Majestic."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to marrying virgins, for they have sweeter mouths, more fertile wombs, are warmer in passion, and are more content with little effort."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to marrying virgins, for they have more fertile wombs, sweeter mouths, less deceit, and are more content with little."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to applying kohl (ithmid) at the time of sleep, for it clears the eyesight and grows the hair."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to applying kohl (ithmid), for it grows the hair, removes impurities from the eye and clears the eyesight."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to applying kohl (ithmid), for it clears the eyesight and grows the hair."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Take care of (that is, kill) the pitch-black (dog) with two spots, for it is a devil."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to marriage; and whoever is not able to, let him fast, for it is a restraint for him (breaking his desire)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to cow's milk, for the cow grazes on every kind of tree, and it is a cure for every disease."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to cow's milk, for it is a medicine, and to its fat, for it is a cure; and beware of its meat, for its meat is a disease."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to cow's milk, for it is a cure, and its ghee is a medicine, and its meat is a disease."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to white clothes; let your living wear them and shroud your dead in them, for they are the best of your clothes."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to jihad in the path of Allah, for it is one of the gates of Paradise; through it Allah removes grief and anxiety."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to travelling by night, for the earth is traversed more quickly at night."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to archery, for it is the best of your games."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to archery, for it is the best of your pastimes."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to sana (senna) and sanut, for in them both is a cure for every disease except sam, and that is death."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to the tooth-stick (miswak), for it purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to Sham (Syria)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to Sham (Syria), for it is the choicest of Allah's lands, and the chosen ones of His creation dwell in it. Whoever refuses, let him join his Yemen and drink from its pools, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has guaranteed to me Sham and its people."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise; and a man keeps speaking the truth and striving for truthfulness until he is written with Allah as a siddiq (truthful one). And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to Hell; and a man keeps lying and striving for lying until he is written with Allah as a kadhdhab (liar)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to truthfulness, for it is with righteousness, and both of them are in Paradise; and beware of lying, for it is with wickedness, and both of them are in Hell. Ask Allah for certainty and well-being, for no one has been given, after certainty, anything better than well-being. Do not envy one another, do not hate one another, do not cut off relations with one another and do not turn your backs on one another; and, O servants of Allah, be brothers to one another as Allah has commanded you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to sheep and goats, for they are among the animals of Paradise; pray in their pens and wipe the dirt from their noses."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to white clothes; let your living wear them and shroud your dead in them."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to white clothes; wear them and shroud your dead in them."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to small pebbles, the kind with which the Jamrah is stoned."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Act upon the concession of Allah which He has granted you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to marrying young women, for they have purer mouths, more fertile wombs and are warmer in passion."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to the night prayer (qiyam al-layl), for it was the practice of the righteous before you, a means of nearness to Allah Almighty, a restraint from sin, an expiation for evil deeds, and a means of driving disease away from the body."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to the meat of the back, for it is among the best of it."
