«عليكم بالشام فإنها صفوة بلاد الله يسكنها خيرته من خلقه فمن أبى فليلحق بيمنه وليسق من غدره فإن الله عز وجل تكفل لي بالشام وأهله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to Sham (Syria), for it is the choicest of Allah's lands, and the chosen ones of His creation dwell in it. Whoever refuses, let him join his Yemen and drink from its pools, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has guaranteed to me Sham and its people."
