" عليك بجمل الدعاء وجوامعه قولي: اللهم إني أسألك من الخير كله عاجله وآجله ما علمت منه وما لم أعلم وأعوذ بك من الشر كله عاجله وآجله ما علمت منه وما لم أعلم وأسألك الجنة وما قرب إليها من قول أو عمل وأعوذ بك من النار وما قرب إليها من قول أو عمل وأسألك مما سألك به محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وأعوذ بك مما تعوذ به محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وما قضيت لي من قضاء فاجعل عاقبته رشدا "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to comprehensive and concise supplications. Say: O Allah, I ask You for all good, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know; and I seek refuge in You from all evil, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know; and I ask You for Paradise and for every word and deed that brings one near to it; and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from every word and deed that brings one near to it; and I ask You for what Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from what Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sought refuge in You from; and whatever decree You have decreed for me, make its outcome one of right guidance."
