Hadith Beginning with the Letter 'Ayn (ع)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to this pre-dawn meal (suhur), for it is the blessed morning meal."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to this Indian wood (costus), for in it are cures for seven diseases: it is put into the nose for tonsillitis ('udhrah), and poured into one side of the mouth for pleurisy (dhat al-janb)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to this black seed, for in it is a cure for every disease except sam, and that is death."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to offering this prayer in your homes" - meaning the sunnah prayer after Maghrib.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Do only those deeds which you are able to, for Allah does not tire of rewarding until you yourselves tire of doing deeds."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Adopt a moderate way, for whoever is harsh with this religion, it will overpower him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Hold fast to tasbih, tahlil and taqdis (glorifying, declaring the Oneness and the holiness of Allah), and count them on your fingertips, for they will be questioned and made to speak. And do not be heedless, lest you forget the mercy."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Upon them is what they were charged with, and upon you is what you were charged with."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever I am the mawla (patron) of, Ali bin Abi Talib is his mawla."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Ali is to me in the position that Harun (Aaron) was to Musa (Moses), except that there is no prophet after me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and no one will convey on my behalf except myself or Ali."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Ali will pay off my debt."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Umar, I did it deliberately."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The lifespans of my Ummah are between sixty and seventy years."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Amr bin al-As is among the righteous people of Quraysh."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The flourishing of Bayt al-Maqdis is a sign of the ruin of Yathrib, the ruin of Yathrib is a sign of the outbreak of the great battle, the outbreak of the great battle is a sign of the conquest of Constantinople, and the conquest of Constantinople is a sign of the emergence of the Dajjal."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Performing Umrah in Ramadan is equal to Hajj."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Performing Umrah in Ramadan is equal to performing Hajj with me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"This man did little, yet he was rewarded greatly."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man's paternal uncle is like his father."

"Ammar will be killed by the rebellious group."

"Whenever two matters were put before Ammar, he always chose the more correct of the two."

"Ammar is filled with faith right down to the joints of his bones."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Abbas is my paternal uncle and is like my father."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a boy, two goats of equal age, and for a girl, one goat."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a boy, two goats, and for a girl, one goat; it does not harm you whether they are male or female."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a boy, two aqiqahs, and for a girl, one aqiqah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"With Allah are the treasuries of good and evil, and their keys are certain men. So glad tidings to the one whom Allah has made a key to good and a lock against evil, and woe to the one whom Allah has made a key to evil and a lock against good."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Visit the sick and follow the funeral processions; they remind you of the Hereafter."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave, seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell, seek refuge with Allah from the trial of the False Messiah (al-Masih al-Dajjal), and seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Two eyes will not see the Fire: an eye that wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye that spent the night keeping guard in the path of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Two eyes will not be touched by the Fire: an eye that wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye that spent the night keeping guard in the path of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Two eyes will never be touched by the Fire: an eye that wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye that spent the night keeping guard in the path of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The one who takes back the gift he has given is like one who eats his own vomit back."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A borrowed item ('ariyah) is to be returned, and a lent gift (minhah) is to be given back."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A borrowed item ('ariyah) is to be returned, a lent gift (minhah) is to be given back, a debt is to be paid, and the guarantor is liable for what he has taken on."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The one who works on collecting charity with justice is like one who fights in the path of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, until he returns to his home."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The servants are the servants of Allah and the lands are the lands of Allah. So whoever brings any part of dead land to life, it is his, and an unjust root has no right."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Worship in times of turmoil and strife is equal to migrating to me."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Abbas is the paternal uncle of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and a man's paternal uncle is like his father."
