«العارية مؤداة والمنحة مردودة والدين مقضي والزعيم غارم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A borrowed item ('ariyah) is to be returned, a lent gift (minhah) is to be given back, a debt is to be paid, and the guarantor is liable for what he has taken on."
