Once, some wealth came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from somewhere, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed it. I passed by two men, and one of them said to the other, "By Allah! This distribution is such that neither Allah's pleasure nor the home of the Hereafter is intended by it." I listened carefully to what they said and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You have said, 'No person should come to me with news about any of my companions.' Just now, I passed by such and such men, and they were saying this."
