حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا . قَالَ : قَالَ : وَكُنَّا نَرَى أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سُمَّ فِي ذِرَاعِ شَاةٍ " ، سَمَّتْهُ الْيَهُودُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that some statements have an effect like magic, and we believed that the Jews had mixed poison in the food of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
