Musnad Ahmad 3755 — Musnad of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ سورة القمر آية 17 ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُدَّكِرٍ أَوْ مُذَّكِّرٍ ؟ قَالَ : أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُدَّكِرٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught me this verse in this way: « ﴿وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ﴾ [القمر : 17]» A man asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Is the word "muddakir" with a dal or with a dhal? He replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught me with a dal.
