Abu Imran Aslam narrates: I went for Hajj with my masters. I presented myself before Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I asked: "Shall I perform Umrah before performing Hajj?" She said: "If you wish, perform Umrah before Hajj, and if you wish, perform (Umrah) after performing Hajj."
