Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he was afflicted with an ailment in his head, and he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "How shall I offer the sacrifice?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to provide a sacrificial animal, put a garland around its neck, then drive it on until he stood with it at Arafah along with the people, then send it on along with the people. He too used to do the same with the sacrificial animal.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator whose name has not been mentioned.

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The lice of my head were troubling me. I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "So whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head, then his ransom (fidyah) is fasting, or charity, or a sacrifice." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: "Do you have a faraq (that is, a specific measure of grain)? Distribute it among six poor people." The narrator says: A faraq is three sa'. (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) "Or else sacrifice a goat, or fast for three days." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Decide one of them for me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Feed six poor people."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This narration is reported in the Sahih in abridged form.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Ubaydullah al-Arzami, who is matruk (abandoned).
