Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no 'sarurah' in Islam." (There is a difference of opinion in explaining 'sarurah'; according to one view, it means that a person never performs Hajj at all.)
Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Al-Qasim narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "None of you should ever say: 'I am a sarurah,' for a Muslim is not a sarurah. And none of you should say: 'I am a hajji (pilgrim),' for the pilgrim is only the one in ihram. Rather, a person should say: 'I intend to go to Makkah.'"
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator al-Qasim did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
