Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Supplicate to Allah Almighty that He admit me into Paradise!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), describing the greatness of Allah Almighty, said: "His Kursi (Footstool) encompasses the heavens and the earth, and a creaking sound comes from it just as, when someone mounts a new camel-saddle, a sound comes (from that saddle) because of the weight."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "(On the Day of Resurrection) 'al-Jabbar' (the Compeller, i.e. Allah Almighty) will take the heavens and the earth in His Hand, and then close His Hand; He will close it and open it, and then say: 'I am the Compeller! I am the King! Where are those who called themselves compellers? Where are the arrogant?'" The narrator says: While saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began swaying to the right and to the left, until I looked at the pulpit and it was moving beneath the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was thinking: Will this pulpit not fall down with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on it?
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and he said: Yahya bin Bukayr narrated it like this and said that it is from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), whereas other narrators said that it is from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). I said: "O Messenger of Allah! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, does our Lord laugh too?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, He does laugh!" So I said: "If He laughs, then He will not deprive us of good."

He said: "Have you never passed through a barren place in the valley of your people, and when you later passed by it, it had become green; then when you passed by it, it had become barren; then you passed by it, and it was green? Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: With your Lord there is neither night nor day. The light of the heavens and the earth comes from the light of His Countenance. In terms of your days, one day with Him is twelve hours. Your deeds of the previous day are presented to Him at the beginning of the present day, and He examines them for three hours. When He finds in them something He dislikes, that angers Him. The first to know of His anger are the angels who carry the Throne; they find its weight upon them. So the carriers of the Throne, the (bearers of the) canopies of the Throne, the angels brought near, and all the other angels fall into prostration. Then Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) blows into the horn, and everything hears his voice. Then they all glorify the Most Merciful for three hours, until the Most Merciful is filled with mercy. That makes six hours. Then the wombs are brought, and He examines them for three hours. This is what is meant by this verse in the Book of Allah Almighty: "He it is Who shapes you in the wombs however He wills."
(In another place Allah Almighty says:) "He grants daughters to whom He wills and grants sons to whom He wills, or He pairs them, males and females, and He makes barren whom He wills. Indeed, He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful."
(Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says:) That makes nine hours. Then the provisions are brought, and He examines them for three hours. This is what is meant by this saying of Allah Almighty: "He grants abundant provision to whom He wills, and restricts it (for whom He wills)." "Every day He is engaged in some affair." He (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud) said: This is your affair and the affair of your Lord.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Abd al-Salam. Abu Hatim said: He is majhul (unknown). Ibn Hibban mentioned him in the book "al-Thiqat". And the narrator Abdullah bin Mikraz is mentioned with doubt, that his name may be Ubaydullah; I have not seen anyone who mentioned him.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a cloud passed by. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what this is?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "This is the 'anan (rain cloud), and it goes to the far corners of the earth. Allah Almighty drives it even to those of His servants who do not thank Him and do not worship Him. Do you know what is above this?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "(Above it) is al-Raqi' (the firmament), a restrained wave and a protected roof. Do you know how far it is between you and it?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "A distance of five hundred years' journey." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what is above that?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Another heaven. Do you know how far it is between you and it?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A distance of five hundred years' journey." Until he had counted seven heavens. Then he said: "Do you know what is above that?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Throne." He said: "Do you know how far it is between it (i.e. the Throne) and the seventh heaven?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Five hundred years' journey." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what is beneath you?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The earth. Do you know what is beneath it?" We said: "Allah knows best." He said: "Another earth. Do you know how far it is between the two?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Seven hundred years' journey." Until he had counted seven earths. Then he said: "By Allah! If you were to let down a rope, it would descend." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He has knowledge of everything."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Tirmidhi recorded this narration, but he recorded these words: "Between every two earths is a distance of five hundred years' journey", whereas here it is mentioned that the distance is seven hundred years' journey. Likewise, al-Tirmidhi recorded these words: "If you were to let down a rope, it would descend upon Allah", and here the Name of Majesty is not mentioned.
Imam Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, al-Hakam bin Abd al-Malik, who is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Between the lowest heaven and the one after it is a distance of five hundred years' journey, and between every two heavens is a distance of five hundred years' journey. Between the seventh heaven and the Kursi (Footstool) is a distance of five hundred years, and between the Kursi and the water is a distance of five hundred years. The Throne is above the water, and Allah Almighty is above the Throne, and still He knows (everything) about you.
