«مثلي ومثلكم كمثل رجل أوقد نارا فجعل الفراش والجنادب يقعن فيها وهو يذبهن عنها وأنا آخذ بحجزكم عن النار وأنتم تفلتون من يدي»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The example of me and you is like a man who kindled a fire, and moths and grasshoppers began falling into it while he kept driving them away from it. And I am holding you back from the Fire, but you slip out of my hand."

«مثلي ومثل ما بعثني الله به كمثل رجل أتى قوما فقال: يا قوم إني رأيت الجيش بعيني وإني أنا النذير العريان فالنجاء النجاء فأطاعه طائفة من قومه فأدلجوا وانطلقوا على مهلهم فنجوا وكذبته طائفة منهم فأصبحوا مكانهم فصبحهم الجيش فأهلكهم واجتاحهم فذلك مثل من أطاعني فاتبع ما جئت به ومثل من عصاني وكذب بما جئت به من الحق»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The example of me and of what Allah has sent me with is like a man who came to his people and said: 'O my people, I have seen the army with my own eyes, and I am a plain warner, so flee, flee!' A group of his people obeyed him; they set out by night, leaving at their ease, and were saved. Another group denied him and stayed where they were; the army attacked them in the morning and destroyed and annihilated them. That is the example of the one who obeys me and follows what I have brought, and of the one who disobeys me and denies the truth I have brought."

"A man passed by the branch of a tree in the middle of a road and said: 'By Allah, I will remove this from the path of the Muslims so that it does not harm them.' So because of this good deed he was admitted into Paradise."

"On the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Mi'raj), I passed by the Highest Assembly (the exalted gathering of angels), and Jibril was shrunken like a worn-out old cloth out of fear of Allah Almighty."

"One who finds rest and one from whom rest is found: these are two kinds of people. The believing servant finds rest from the toil and hardship of this world and goes on to the mercy of Allah Almighty; and with the death of the wicked servant, people, lands, trees and animals all find rest."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I seek refuge in Allah from people saying that I kill my companions! Indeed, this man and his companions recite the Qur'an, but it does not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the game."

"Mu'adh bin Jabal is the most knowledgeable of people regarding what is lawful and unlawful."
