Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would wish for two valleys; and if he had two valleys, he would long for a third. Nothing but dust can fill the belly of the son of Adam."
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, but it is strengthened by the hadith that is coming; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "If the son of Adam had a valley of date-palms, he would wish for another like it, then he would wish for another like it, until he would wish for many valleys. Nothing but dust can fill the belly of the son of Adam."
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and Bazzar recorded it, and the narrators of Abu Ya'la and Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih.

Nothing but dust can fill the belly of the son of Adam, and Allah Almighty accepts the repentance of whoever repents."
Ahmad recorded it, and Tabarani and Bazzar recorded something similar, and their narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Masruq said: I asked Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came into the house, did he say anything?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: "He would say, by way of citing an example: 'If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would seek a third valley, and nothing but dust can fill his mouth. We have appointed wealth only so that the prayer may be established and zakah may be paid, and Allah Almighty accepts the repentance of whoever repents.'"
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, but at its end he narrated these words: "We have made wealth only so that the prayer may be performed by means of it and zakah may be given by means of it." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We used to think that these words were from the abrogated part of the Qur'an. Bazzar also recorded it. Its chain contains Mujalid bin Sa'id, who became confused (ikhtilat), but Yahya al-Qattan does not narrate from him what he narrated during his confusion. And Allah knows best.

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's soul is not filled with wealth until it is filled with dust. If one of you had a valley filled from top to bottom, he would wish for another filled valley to be his; and if another filled valley were given to him, and he then found yet another valley, he would say: 'By Allah! If it were in my power, I would have filled you.'"
Bazzar and Tabarani recorded it, and his wording is: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to us: 'If one of you had a valley filled from bottom to top, he would like another filled valley to be his,'" and the rest of the report is as before. The chain of Tabarani contains narrators whom I do not know, and the chain of Bazzar contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is a kadhdhab (liar).
