Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was present at the pact of Banu Hashim, Banu Zuhrah and Banu Taym, and I would not like to break that pact even if I were given red camels in exchange for it. If I were called to it even today, I would respond, on the condition that good is enjoined, evil is forbidden, and the right of the oppressed is taken from the oppressor."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Dirar bin Surad, who is da'if (weak), and the narration has another route as well.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this as a marfu' hadith: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The world is cursed, and whatever is in it is cursed, except enjoining good, forbidding evil, and the remembrance of Allah."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains al-Mughirah bin Mutarrif, and I do not know him; the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Yazid bin Abi Habib narrates that Muhammad bin Yazid bin Abi Ziyad related: "Once Qays bin Kharashah and Ka'b were travelling together. When the two of them reached Siffin, Ka'b stopped there for a while and said: There is no god but Allah! Muslim blood will surely be shed at this place, so much that no such blood will be shed in any other part of the earth. Qays became angry and said: O Abu Ishaq! How did you come to know this? How can this be? This is of the Unseen, the knowledge of which Allah Almighty has given to no one. Ka'b said: There is not a single span of the earth that is not mentioned in the Torah which Allah Almighty revealed to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him); whatever will happen on the earth and whatever will come out of it until the Day of Resurrection (all of it is mentioned therein). Muhammad bin Yazid asked: Who is Qays bin Kharashah? He said: He is a man from the tribe of Qays; you do not know him, though he is a man of your own land? He said: By Allah! I do not know him. So he said that Sayyiduna Qays bin Kharashah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have come to pledge allegiance to you on what has come to you (peace and blessings be upon him) from Allah Almighty, and also to pledge that I will speak the truth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Qays! It may be that when a long time passes, people will become rulers after me before whom you will be unable to speak the truth." Qays said: By Allah! I will not pledge allegiance to you on anything unless I also fulfil it for your sake. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In that case nothing will harm you. The narrator says: So Sayyiduna Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) used to criticise Ziyad and his son Ubaydullah bin Ziyad. He sent for him and said: Are you the one who attributes lies to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)? Sayyiduna Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No! But if you wish, I will tell you who attributes lies to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): it is the one who abandons acting upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and it is mursal.

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My dear friend (that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) advised me that the blame of any blamer should not affect me in the matter of Allah Almighty, that I should look at the one who is below me and not look at the one who is above me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me to love the poor and stay close to them; he (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me to speak the truth even if it is bitter; he advised me to keep the ties of kinship even if the other person turns his back; he advised me that I should not ask people for anything; and he advised me to say often 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'aliyyil-'azim' (There is no might and no power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great), for it is one of the treasures of Paradise.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, adding these words: "And that I should not ask people for anything." Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Sallam Abu al-Mundhir, who is thiqah (trustworthy); al-Bazzar also recorded it.

Beware of sitting with foolish people, for sitting with them is a disease. Whoever is forbearing with a fool remains well, and whoever answers him back regrets it. Whoever is not content with the little that the fool brings will have to be content with much. When any one of you enjoins good or forbids evil, let him prepare himself to be patient with harm and let him hope for the reward from Allah Almighty, for whoever has certainty in the reward from Allah Almighty, the harm that touches him will not hurt him."
