Book of Tribulations (may Allah protect us from them)
بَابٌ فِي الْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَفِيمَنْ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لَائِمٍ .
Enjoining good and forbidding evil, and one who does not fear the blame of any critic for the sake of Allah

وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنْ لَا يَأْخُذَنِي فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لَائِمٍ ، وَأَنْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَسْفَلَ مِنِّي ، وَلَا أَنْظُرَ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ فَوْقِي ، وَأَوْصَانِي بِحُبِّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَالدُّنُوِّ مِنْهُمْ ، وَأَوْصَانِي بِقَوْلِ الْحَقِّ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُرًّا ، وَأَوْصَانِي بِصِلَةِ الرَّحِمِ وَإِنْ أَدْبَرَتْ ، وَأَوْصَانِي أَنْ لَا أَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا ، وَأَوْصَانِي أَنْ أُكْثِرَ مِنْ قَوْلِ : لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَزَادَ : وَأَنْ لَا أَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ سَلَّامٍ أَبِي الْمُنْذِرِ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My dear friend (that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) advised me that the blame of any blamer should not affect me in the matter of Allah Almighty, that I should look at the one who is below me and not look at the one who is above me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me to love the poor and stay close to them; he (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me to speak the truth even if it is bitter; he advised me to keep the ties of kinship even if the other person turns his back; he advised me that I should not ask people for anything; and he advised me to say often 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'aliyyil-'azim' (There is no might and no power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great), for it is one of the treasures of Paradise.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, adding these words: "And that I should not ask people for anything." Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Sallam Abu al-Mundhir, who is thiqah (trustworthy); al-Bazzar also recorded it.
