Majma al-Zawaid 12127 — Enjoining good and forbidding evil, and one

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Hurayrah! Do not go to any amir (or ruler), and if you do go to him, do not go beyond my Sunnah, and do not fear his sword or whip when it comes to commanding him to be mindful of Allah and to obey Him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abd al-Mun'im bin Bashir, who is da'if (weak).
